Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute of Management and Entrepreneur Development, Pune, Maharashtra, was established in the year 2014. The status of this affiliated college is duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Its 0.5-acre campus has been compacted with DYPIMED offering two postgraduate programs with a total student enrolment of 293. This means that the institute has a faculty strength of 25 members, thus maintaining a decent student-to-faculty ratio.

The institute offers a number of student amenities. The faculty provide the facility of separate hostel for both boys and girls in the campus area for a living secured and comfortable life. Each hostel has in-house gymkhana, indoor games, and entertainment rooms; also, there exists a well-stocked library in the institute with books, e-books, journals, and multimedia resources, interspersed with a subscription to reputed international publications. Learning is aided by technology to a great degree at Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute of Management and Entrepreneur Development, through the availability of properly equipped computer laboratories with the latest IT infrastructure. 

The programs run by DYPIMED presently include MBA and MCA at a full-time level. The MBA program is having 180 seats in the intake approved, while the other, MCA program, is also offering 120 seats of intake, hence making it a total intake of 300 for the college. These courses equip the students at the level of expertise and indeed become able professionals in management and information technology areas.

Admission at DYPIMED operates with a notion to enrol competent, motivated students using a selection process that is transparent, clear, and feasible. For MBA, the institute accepts MAH MBA CET, a state-level examination with high prestige and reputation all over the administrative circles in Maharashtra. This examination is hence one of the evaluative admission processes to test the potential for and aptitude of the candidate for the course in management studies.
