Dr Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi Centre for Political Science, Thanjavur is one of the constituent colleges now functioning as a prestigious college in Tamil Nadu which was established in the year of 2007. This co-educational institution is located at Periyar Nagar, Vallam and is primarily concerned with courses in political science, and its sub-disciplines. It is an academic institution which provides education from undergraduate level to doctoral level, the major areas of learning are political science and Periyarism. The institute has 4 members in the faculty, which makes the institute ideal for allowing academic development and research work.

The three floor Arjun Singh Library boasts a sizable collection of books and e-resources to support research and develop critical thinking skills.

The course that offered are densely MA political Science integrated/Regular, MA Periyar Thought, Full time/ Part time Ph.D Political Science, Ph.D, Periyar Thought.
