Actually Dr Kalam Polytechnic College a self-financing college affiliated to the Anna University was started in the year 2008 at Thanjavur of Tamil Nadu state of India. This particular institution is an AICTE accredited college that was established in seeds on a campus size of 10.24 acres; it provides diploma engineering courses. The college teaches 512 number of students every year and has a faculty of 32 in its campus which contribute to a concentrated learning process. 

Dr Kalam Polytechnic College has put in place various amenities that help to improve the students and their studies experience. The campus comprises of an enclosed compound for boys and girls respectively later provided with full time wardens, well stocked kitchens to provide balanced diets on the students and a playground to facilitate games and other activities.
