Dr. Mathura Mohan Sil D.El.Ed. College, Bethuadahari, is one of the comparatively new institutions located in Nadia, West Bengal initiated in the year 2016. Kathalberia college is located in the village of Kathalberia and the campus area of this college is only 0.9399 acres. That was specifically approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) that regulates the institute to follow the quality policy of teacher education. With a focus on preparing future educators. The institution now has 194 students in total, and is staffed with 21 professionals in the faculty, thus still having a good student to teacher ratio.

Dr. Mathura Mohan Sil D.El.Ed. College recognises the importance of a proper environment that will facilitate learning amongst the student’s. It provides a number of facility that can easily make a difference in the educational learning system. There is a library that was noted for comprehensiveness comprising of 5400 books, 3021 reference books and 39 sets of encyclopaedias. It is crowded that only one hundred can be fitted into the reading room where fifteen educational journals and periodicals are subscribed to by the students. On physical health aspect, the college offers sporting amenities and a gym. An auditorium is used to conduct events and seminars; it also promotes active students’ life. It also fulfills students welfare with college canteen and health centre where first aid accessories are also installing.

Dr. Mathura Mohan Sil D.El.Ed. College teaches two basic programmes in teacher education. The B.Ed and D.El.Ed both are full-time regular courses and the respective periods of the programmes are two years. In these courses, the college introduced equal proportions of seats, with an approved student enrolment of 50 students to each programme. This stand makes it possible for the institution to admit students aspiring to teach at both the elementary education as well as the Secondary education level.

Admission policy for Dr. Mathura Mohan Sil D.El.Ed. College is one of merit and follow the rules and regulation of the state government and university norms. For B.Ed as well as D.El.Ed courses, admission is carried out on merits and the total marks obtained in the qualifying examination are considered.
