Dr. Palpu College of Arts and Science, Puthussery, started in 2014, aims to take on the challenge to become a leading institution among the institutions of higher learning in Kerala, India. Sitting in centre of Puthussery, this affiliated college is rich in providing numerous under graduate and post graduate courses. The institution has a total student capacity of 627 and a faculty of 27 thus offering the student with a favourable ground for academic success and personal shaping. 

The infrastructure facilitated for the Dr. Palpu College comprises of infrastructure that supports the modern learning needs of a student. The college have modern laboratory that caters to higher and lower laboratory courses, lecture demonstrations, and students-faculty research. These labs are always stocked with modern day equipment and software so that students are prepared for what they are going to face in the real world. The library has good number of sitting capacity, well furnished and equipped with large number of books and journals specialty of different fields. The faculty also has its collection of books and other reading materials which are unique to the department, this way students access materials from the specific area of study.

The full-time programme offered by Dr. Palpu College is a range of undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. The institution offers seven undergraduate programmes, these are; B.Sc Geology, B.Com Finance, BA English, BA Journalism and Mass Communication, BA Political Science and BA Economics. For those seeking advanced studies, the college offers 3 postgraduate programmes: M.Sc Geology, M.Sc Physics and MA English Language and Literature respectively. These various courses meet the various interest areas and career paths thus providing the students with options to make.

Admission processes therefore employed by the Dr, Palpu College are fair and give an equal opportunity to get admitted to the most deserving students. Half of the seats of the undergraduate programmes are being allotted centralised by the Government of Kerala or its agency. This process is merit-based, examination and entrance test based, and is also affiliated to the relevant principles of the state government as regards to reservation.
