Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College and Hospital, Kolkata, was established in the year 1952 with a view of imparting quality dental education in the heart of Kolkata, West Bengal. This is an affiliated college and is approved by the Dental Council of India. Seven decades and more, this college has met the needs of dental education. The college, which spans an area of 2.43 acres, offers scores of dental programs to 590 students enrolled in it. The BDS program, a flagship program of the institution, is offered by the college with a 100% admission capacity each year. Various specializations under the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) are offered at the postgraduate level where the institution admits a batch size of 3-4 students in each discipline. The college offers MDS in Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Conservative Dentistry, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology, and Paedodontics.
