Dr Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswamy College of Engineering, Bangalore: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswamy College of Engineering, DRSMCE, was instituted in the year 2008 and is a leading college located in Bangalore, Karnataka. This affiliated college is located on the vast area of 10.11 acres and was approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Currently DRSMCE offers engineering and management programmes from 3 level degree programmes with a total of 9 courses. With a student enrolment capacity of 552, the college is well facilitated by a 89 members strong faculty.

A comprehensive education is offered at  Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswamy College of Engineering with full equipped facilities. Over 20, 377 volume of books including book of reference works and e-books that are open to use at anytime throughout the campus are situated on an area of 1000 sq.m of the university library. Regarding students’ health, DRSMCE boasts of the best sporting amenities such as cricket ground, football ground, basketball and tennis court, and many others indoor games facilities. Hostels The college also has boy’s hostel with a holding capacity of 500 students and a girl’s hostel holding a capacity of 300 students, the hostels are comfortable to live in. A well equipped health centre, with professional health care practitioners, offers outpatient services for members of the campus.

While being diverse, offerings in teaching conducted by DRSMCE are profession oriented. The institution offers 6 undergraduate engineering, 2 postgraduate engineering and Master of Business Administration programme. All programmes are level-based, which means they are fully open only during the day, which is consistent with the college’s educational approach. Out of all the BE courses offered, CSE is the largest course with an intake of 120 students, the Second largest is IS&E and ME with an intake capacity of 60 students each. To meet the needs of technical advancement, the college also provides the postgraduate level M.Tech degree programmes in Digital Electronics and Communication Engineering and Manufacturing Science and Engineering.

Admission to DRSMCE is more or less centralised through qualification in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), a state level test for those aspiring to be engineers.
