Dr. Zakir Husain Academy is an affiliated college, located in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh which was established in the year 2001. This university is located in a limited area of 3.309 acre and has been providing under graduate courses in arts, commerce and science streams. This academy enrol a total of 349 students and has 32 faculties and that show that it offers focused learning. The college teaches seven courses in three degree programmes, namely Biotechnology, Microbiology, Computer Science and Commerce.

Dr. Zakir Husain Academy is equipped with various facilities meant to support the academic activity of students. Within such comforts, there is a fully equipped library, packed with 5795 books and 14 different encyclopaedias spanning 41 volumes that are within student’s reach. Corresponding to the practice-oriented approach of the college, the mentioned above departmental laboratories include Physics, Biotechnology/Microbiology, and Chemistry. With relation to information technology, the institution has seventeen desktops and one laptop computer and a wireless high tech internet connection throughout the college. This concept allows the students and the faculty to browse through the online materials, watch videos and access the innovative learning tools.

Dr. Zakir Husain Academy has a total of seven full time undergraduate courses so as to meet the requirement of students with different fields of interests. These programmes span across three main streams: In the field of Arts there are provisions for the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Science there exists options of B.Sc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Computer Science and general B.Sc, Commerce there is Bachelor in Commerce in Tax Procedure and Computer Applications. All courses are proposed as 3-year full-time programmes and successfully prepare students for further professional development and to respond effectively to the demands of today’s economy.
