Droan College of Nursing, Rudrapur was established in the year 2009. The college is affiliated to Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun. The campus sprawls over an area of 4.9 acres located at P.O. Khanpur Purab, Dineshpur Road. Droan College of Nursing has three full-time nursing courses approved by the Indian Nursing Council. The total number of faculty and students is 36 and 264 respectively in this institute.

Facilitating factors in Droan College of Nursing that help in making the learning process enriching, and also in the overall development of students, are as follows. The library is well-stocked with large numbers of books related to nursing and general literature. It subscribes to 20 foreign and Indian journals, which include seven specialised nursing science publications. There is a separate room for audiovisual aids to conduct interactive learning. The college has provided a number of departmental laboratories for the practical training of the future nurses. There exists a health centre with first aid facilities in the campus to render prompt medical attention. The other facilities in the campus include indoor and outdoor sports such as volleyball, badminton, football, cricket, and tennis.

Droan College of Nursing shall provide an enabling environment for learning. The College has a girls' hostel within the campus. It consists of a living area with all basic facilities, a mess and a dining hall, a recreation room with satellite TV, provision for a shop for essentials, and a visitor's room. Safety is utmost concern, and therefore, the hostel is guarded by armed security personnel at the gate 24*7. The transport facility is also made available in order to make commutation easy and accessible for day scholars. There is a very good canteen inside the campus, which serves fresh food with full hygiene in a neat and spacious area.

The Droan College of Nursing offers three comprehensive nursing programs that include B.Sc. Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery, as well as Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery. All these courses are on a full-time basis and provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the nursing profession. The intake of the BSc. Nursing is 40 for four years. GNM- four-year course and intake of 50 students. ANM- Two years duration, intake 20. This brings the total available seats in the College to 110, with three different courses catering to different needs in nursing education and preparing students for different professional roles in the health sector.
