ES College of Education of Villupuram is one of the emerging institutions which plays a vital role in molding the future of education in the decade of 2009. ES College of Education currently offers one full-time course: the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme which will be fully described in the later chapters of this paper is a two or two and a half year qualifying course leading to the qualification of either a General B. This two-year programme which intends to produce highly qualified and professional teachers in the country is offered in 100 approved intakes. This B.Ed course integrates theory with school practicum and prepares the students for modern teaching facilities.

ES College of Education follows the norms of the State Government, UT Administration, and the concerned University regarding admission policy. Selection to the programme is strictly based on merit, which takes into account the scores from the qualifying and any entrance examination. The college may also use other channel of selection as prescribed by the government from time to time.
