Friends College of Education, Chapadu, was established in 2016 in Y.S.R. District, Andhra Pradesh. This self-financing, co-educational college affiliated to State University aims at shaping the future teachers. The NCTE approved institution, offers quality training programmes in teacher education in a compact 0.82-acre campus. With a strong student enrolment of 190 and faculty strength of 16, Friends College of Education is a focused learning institution. The institute offers two full-time courses  meant to cater for aspiring teachers at all levels of education.

The college has various facilities which improve learning experiences and overall development of students. An adequately stocked library is a pool of knowledge, providing the needed material for new instructors. Departmental laboratories are provided across the campus so that students will have to learn practically by putting their hands on work. To maintain healthy and fit members within its community, the college has a health centre with basic first aid facilities. Sportsmen can avail of every type of sports facility on campus. In addition, the college has an auditorium for seminars and events. Excellent IT infrastructure has also been provided by Friends College of Education to deal with the requirements of modern education. Other facilities include a guest house for visiting faculty members and family members of the students and a gym facility for fitness conscious individuals. A canteen is also available, serving as a common place of gathering for staff and students.

Friends College of Education, Chapadu offers two teacher training programmes: D.El.Ed. and B.Ed. Both are fulltime two-year courses. Each programme has the permissible intake of 100 students, thereby a total intake of 200 seats in the institution. These programmes give a student both knowledge and practical experience regarding this profession, thereby setting a basis for a successful teaching career. The emphasis that the college places in these two core programmes has allowed for professional concentration in teacher education that assures its graduates are adequately prepared in meeting the challenges of modern classrooms.

The admission to Friends College of Education, Chapadu is strictly on merit. The admission process is in correspondence with the state government norms along with the norms of the university that has affiliated the college. For B.Ed course admissions are considered based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or performance in the entrance test. The college may add some other selection processes in relation with the policies of the Andhra Pradesh government and the university.
