Gandhi Institute of Advanced Computer and Research, Rayagada: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Gandhi Institute of Advanced Computer and Research (GIACR) is an affiliated college was set up in the year of 1999 in Rayagada, Odisha. Emerging out on a vast area of 17.29 acres, GIACR is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, also known as AICTE. Currently the institute is providing total 8 courses at three different degree levels for total student enrolment of one thousand one hundred and four. Currently, GIACR has 79 members of faculty and ensures a sufficient student /faculty ratio. The institute focuses particularly in engineering fields such as Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering; Management and Diploma courses.

To support its learning environment, GIACR has established numerous learning facilities that will help improve the learning capability of its students. On the issue of hostels the campus has divided hostels for boys as well as girls with a good quality of accommodation and food services. Computer and air conditioned central library having 25000 books and 1200 books are subscribed along with department libraries. Sports lovers can enjoy a cricket ground, basketball, and baseball ground, and indoor games and sports facilities at the institute. The core ICT facilities are well developed with the access to the 20Mbps internet connection to the campus and Wi-Fi throughout the campus. There are 150 internet accessible computers distributed in different buildings and students can access them. In addition, the institute offers a canteen service, transport services whereby it owns 15 buses for transiting its students to various places, fully equipped laboratories for practical lessons.

In all, the institute teaches 8 courses which include 4 B. Tech courses, 1 MBA and 3 Diploma courses. All programmes are full time, regular courses. The total approved intake for these courses is 570 seats and maximum intake for each course is 120 for MBA and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Unfortunately, there are no graduation stats for latest year But total enrolment of the institute was 1,104, showing the presence of a strong student population of institute in all classes of study.

To enhance the admission process, at GIACR it is made easy and open for any aspiring student to participate. Though the course wise admission process has not been explained in detail, it is usual for any engineering institute to taken scores obtained in National or State level B.Tech entrance exams while granting admission. As for MBA and Diploma programmes, the institute most probably has its own requirements.
