Gaura Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Basti: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Gaura Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya is affiliated with the University of Sirkohiya Harahi Bazar, Basti, Uttar Pradesh, established in the year 2016. It is on a 1.25-acre area and is dedicated to providing quality education with convenience to women. It has an approval by the NCTE, and has a enrolment of 219 students with 16 staff members. Two degree courses that are being facilitated by this institute are Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Bachelor of Arts (BA), meaning that it totally caters to the variant course needs of the students.

The college claims to provide a vast sea of facilities that make the learning experience very enriched in the overall development of different students. The libraries are modernly equipped and offer a calm environment for study and research activities. Meanwhile, the college has identified the importance of technology in modern systems of education and made it a point to enable access to computer laboratories and the Internet for all the students. Departmental laboratories offer opportunities for the students to gain practical experience in their respective areas. The college is also equipped with a gym facility to better develop the physical well-being of the students. 

Gaura Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya essentially runs two full-time courses of two years B.Ed program and three years BA program. This B.Ed program, one of teacher education, carries an approved intake of 50 seats per year. This means that the course aims at career preparation for the students in the teaching of pedagogical skills and knowledge. The two courses have been well structured to absorb students in the respective fields that equip the students for future studies or professional realisation.

Admission at Gaura Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya is strictly based on merit. This is especially true for the B.Ed course since the college accepts only marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or marks in the entrance examinations. The specific admission criteria may vary from time to time according to the prevailing policies of the state government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated university.
