GD College, Murshidabad, came into existence in the year 2007. The college is an affiliated one at Shaikhpara, Raninagar, West Bengal, India. This institution of higher learning has a campus of 5.008 acres with a diverse range of undergraduate programs. With a total enrolment of 934 students and a faculty strength of 18, GD College provides a conducive environment for academic growth.

There are several facilities and amenities within the college for the students. At the very core of its academic resources lies a well-stocked library with a huge and highly valuable collection of books, textbooks, reference books, periodicals, journals, etc., pertaining to diversified fields of studies. It was further enriched by donations received from the American Center, Kolkata, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata. To fight space constraints, the college is developing the library by annexing the adjacent hall, making it reading room as well. GD College also provides excellent infrustructure in IT. This means that the students are exposed to proper modern technology in line with their studies. For the physical well-being, the college provides sports facilities. The college also has a gym. Other facilities inside the campus encompass a canteen, an auditorium for events and seminars, and departmental laboratories for practical learning. It also encourages extracurricular activities within the college, having various clubs for student interests in co-curricular activities, thus completing the approach of human development.

GD College, Murshidabad offers 17 undergraduate courses, and all of them are full-time. The college offers a mix of general and honours degrees in Arts and Science streams.
