The Global Institute of Management and Emerging Technologies (GIMET) is a private engineering college which was founded in 2008 is located in Amritsar, Punjab. GIMET is a part of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar offering an A+ NAAC accredited program. It has a wide 25 acre campus, the total enrolment of students at the institute is 912 and it has a faculty of 176 members. Nawahira observed that GIMET provides 10 courses in the four degree programs comprised of B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and MCA. The institute has a broad focus on engineering and management with focuses on newer fields like Artificial intelligence and machine learning.

GIMET offers a set of up-to-date amenities to complement the learner experience. Facility wise the campus has separate hostels for boys and girls, neat, clean, spacious, well facilitated and adequately ventilated and having the amenities of hot water facilities. The presence of a modern gym helps physical training, and our library consists of three sections containing more than 32 000 books and many electronic resources. 

There are excellent, and well-equipped indoor and outdoor facilities within the institute, which fosters the spirit of physical activities through sports. To meet the different nutritional requirements and choices, a large and clean, multi-ethnic canteen/ mess is provided. Dazzling IT amenity is available to have efficient access to internet connectivity within the campus; hundred percent Wi-Fi coverage. Modern auditorium caters seminars and several other events and the institute has bus facility comprising of 29 buses having routes Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Rayya.

There are in total of 10 courses provided by the institute, 6 being the undergraduate B.Tech courses, along with 2 postgraduate courses, MBA and MCA, and one Master’s degree course, M.Tech. Nonetheless, all are full courses, with no part-time or by distance learning alternatives at present. The total sanctioned intake for all courses is 474 students per annum and maximum intake is 90 per B.Tech Civil Engineering and MBA courses.

To get admission into courses the student has to meet certain requirements depending on the program. For the B.Tech programs the institutes accept the scores from the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). They have active alumni relations where they ensure that their alumni gets the proper contacts and opportunities. Considering the availability of various facilities, the range of offered courses, and the concentration on the development of new technologies, it is for GIMET, to become the comprehensive educational institutions ready to prepare student and provided them with the most suitable background for their successful work in the sphere of engineering and management in the nearest future.
