GLS Institute of Computer Technology, Ahmedabad: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

GLS Institute of Computer Technology, Ahmedabad, was established in the year 1999 and occupies a lead position amongst the educational institutes situated at the heart of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The institute is located opposite the Law Garden in Ellisbridge, and with a compact 2.5 acres of area, it serves as a constituent college for technological education. There are a total of 404 students enrolled, along with a faculty strength of 13, so an institute like this certainly provides a concentrated learning environment.

GLS Institute of Computer Technology boasts ultramodern facilities to enhance the learning experience of its students. The library is one of the pivotal centres of academic resources. It has more than 12,000 books related to different aspects of knowledge in the concerned field. There are 86 subscriptions to national and international journals and periodicals that the library subscribes to; it also has e-journal subscriptions in their support. An air-conditioned reading room is also provided that can be used by students for studying comfortably. The IT infrastructure is equally impressive, with computer laboratories equipped with Ubuntu and MAC operating systems along with RedHat LINUX servers. All these labs are connected through a fiber-optic backbone, with access to necessary software packages besides high-speed internet through four dedicated connections. In order to enable hands-on experiments, a separate Experimental Laboratory is provided for unscheduled experiments.

Currently, GLS Institute of Computer Technology has a single postgraduate program—the Master of Computer Applications. The full-time course extends over two years and has an approved enrollment of 120 seats.

The admission process to the GLS Institute of Computer Technology is conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses in Gujarat. At this institute, admission to the MCA course will be based on the merit of the Common Management Admission Test conducted by the Admission Committee of the ACPC.
