GM Momin Women's College, Thane: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

GM Momin Women's College, Thane, was founded in 1989. It has grown as a premier institution for young women from the middle and lower-middle class. This B++ accredited college by NAAC is located at Thane, Maharashtra, under the University of Mumbai. It imparts various undergraduate and graduate courses in many subjects under the streams of Arts, Science, and Commerce. The sprawling campus stretches over 5 acres, with a total student enrolment of 1,614. There are a total of 25 courses and 8 degree programs at GMWC which impart all-rounded education to its students. 

GMWC has adequate, modern facilities to improve the learning experience of its students. The college library contains more than 21,000 books and 83 periodicals. Apart from this, several e-resources, available through N-List, are accessible. These include well-maintained laboratories, a properly equipped modern infrastructure in the field of IT, a state-of-the-art gymnasium, and a qualified full-time instructor. All the above requirements are achieved with an in-campus canteen, which provides food at subsidized rates; an auditorium for holding events and seminars; and enough sports facilities for both indoor and outdoor games.

The college offers a number of courses to cater to various interests. The undergraduate courses are BA, B.Com, B.Sc, and BMS. The postgraduate programs offered include MA in English, Urdu Literature, Islamic Studies, Sociology, and Philosophy, along with M.Sc courses in Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Information Technology, Physics, and Mathematics. M.Com courses in Accountancy and courses for Ph.D. level in Zoology and Botany are available.

The admission process of GMWC is strictly based on merit and is in accordance with the norms set up by the University of Mumbai and the Government of Maharashtra. As per this policy, undergraduate admissions are offered strictly according to the merits of the last qualifying examination. For its postgraduate programs, the institution maintains a merit-based admission policy. An interview forms the basis of admission for Ph.D. courses.
