GN Girls College, Patiala: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

GN Girls College, the Patiala based affiliated college for girls was established in year 2013, situated near Deer Park on Dakala Road, Patiala, Punjab. This is an educational institution sited in a 2.26 acre and has the mission of educating young women. It is accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) the institution to hold high standards in its education. Currently, GN Girls College has 81 students, and 5 members of the faculty, which makes education more individualised. 

GN Girls College has established several amenities that would be of importance in improving the quality of college experience. In particular, a school library contains learning resources and becomes a source of knowledge for young people, and physical facilities for all kinds of sports foster physical condition and teamwork. The social area within the college with the informal eating place is named the Nescafe Cafeteria to store public’s mind toward the organisation’s brand. Various events, and courses including seminars are carried out concurrently in an auditorium, thus making the campus vibrant. The college also provides facilities for accommodation for those in need of a place to stay they contain a girls hostel with both the A/c and non-A/c. The campus also has state of art IT facilities, teaching laboratories pertaining to various disciplines and well equipped comfortable classrooms for academics. Other facilities are transport facilities, a health centre with an aid station, and parking spaces for faculty, staffs and students.

The full-time courses being offered in GN Girls College today are very numerous to cater for any field of interest. The institution offers under part education for example the B.Ed, B.Com, BA, BBA, B.Sc in Computers and B.Sc in Mathematics among others. In this regard, the college provides education to those willing to pursue postgraduate education to the extent of a Masters of Commerce, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Insurance and Banking. The B. Ed programme for instance which is one of the programmes that have received much attention has an approved intake of 100 student, this show that the college has much emphasis on teacher training.

This means that, the admission process at GN Girls College differ with course. The B.ED programme offers admission subject to merit as evaluated from the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. Regarding selection, the college also adheres to the state government rules, UT administration rules, and rules followed by the affiliated university.
