Gopal Chandra Memorial College of Education is one of the leading institutions providing teacher education. This co-educational college was founded in the year 1967 and has worked out its way amidst shaping future teachers since the last fifty years. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council accredited the college that functions under recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education. This institute provides a personal learning atmosphere to 98 enrolled students with a faculty of 8 dedicated teachers.

The institution has several facilities that make the entire process of learning enriching. At the centre of all these facilities lies the well-stacked library with more than 15,500 volumes of books, 10,000 e-resources, and access to 1,20,000 e-books and e-journals availed through the N-LIST Mission by INFLIBNET. It has a well-maintained, fully air-conditioned reading room with a sitting capacity for 25 students. At the same time, Gopal Chandra Memorial College of Education also maintains modern IT infrastructure, subject-based laboratories, and an auditorium for events and seminars. The academic curriculum of Gopal Chandra Memorial College of Education is oriented mainly to the provision of quality teacher education through its flagship program. At present, there is only one full-time course being offered in the college: the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program. The B.Ed. course has the aims of equipping students with the required knowledge, skills, and practical experience for a successful teaching career.

Gopal Chandra Memorial College of Education shall adopt the admission policy purely based on merit in accordance with the state government and affiliated university policies. The administration shall be based on the performance of students in the qualifying examination, entrance test, or any other selection procedure decided by the authorities in the process of student-selection.
