Gopal Krishna Gokhale College is one of the prominent educational colleges in Kolhapur, Maharashtra state, India. It was established in 1950 and has around 2500 students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is affiliated to NAAC. Sprawled over an area of campus spread over 15.77 acres, the college has a total enrolment of 9,236 students and 45 faculty members. It offers 14 courses across 8 degrees that encompass study subjects, including Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Applications, and vocational studies. The ratio of boys to girls is 76:24 on the campus of the college, which helps maintain a good academic atmosphere.

Under the graduate level programmes, students can pursue the conventional type courses like BA, B.Com, B.Sc in addition to the professional courses such as BCA and B.Sc in Computer Science. B.Voc courses in innovative subject areas include Sustainable Agriculture Management, Tourism and Service Industry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing and Hospital Management, Medical Lab Technology, Catering and Hospitality Management, and M.Sc in Geology for postgraduate studies. For the research scholars M. Phil and Ph.D. degree in Geology is available. Total in-take capacity for students 3,170; over the last year, the college graduated 9,236 students. 

Admission to undergraduate programmes such as BA, B.Com, B.Sc, and BCA generally depend upon the candidate's performance in his or her 10+2 or equivalent examination at Gopal Krishna Gokhale College. In the postgraduate courses like M.Sc Geology, admission is made by considering the marks in the relevant bachelor's degree.
