Gopichand Arya Mahila College, Fazilka: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Gopichand Arya Mahila College, Fazilka, is one of the oldest women college situated in Abohar distt. Punjab and was founded in 1972. This affiliated college recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has a wide coverage of many courses of study in many departments and faculties. This college occupies the 2.5 acre space and and has strength of 1426 students and 17 faculty members in its campus. The institution offered 14 courses plus ten degrees to offer a specialised education in Business, Commerce, Arts, Computer application field, and Vocational studies. 

Infrastructure facilities are also available in the college in order to boost learning and all round development of the students. The campus has well equipped library that contains 18,991 books: textbooks and reference books, Book Bank etc. The library is computerised with the use of e-granthalya software and offers free internet connection for student and staff use. Gopichand Arya Mahila College also provides accommodation facilities for the resident students, out of which there is a girls hostel with an accommodation capacity of 150. A gymnasium and sports facilities are also important in the provision of physical fitness. For academic purpose, college has well equipped modern IT infrastructure and departmental laboratory to encourage academic studies. Other facilities are health centre, a cafeteria, an art centre , a store, and a monthly small item shop.

Gopichand Arya Mahila College in all provides 14 courses, which includes undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education courses. The course offered are fulltime and part time programmes like BA, B.Com, BCA, MA, M.Com and new generation B.Voc programmes are Fashion Designing and Software Development. The college also offers post diploma programmes in concentration areas such as Food Processing and Preservation and in Beauty Aesthetics. The number of seats and the number of intakes, however, differ for each programme; for instance, B.Com Honours has a total of 70 seats, while the B.Voc programmes have 30 seats in each intake. 

The requirements for admission in Gopichand Arya Mahila College are based mostly on merit which makes it possible for students who have the ability to study the areas of their choice to be given the chance to do so. The admission policies of most Bachelor degree programmes such as the BA, the B.Com and the BCA are done principally on merit.
