Better known as Thoothukudi women’s college was exclusively established in the year 2003 to provide Quality education for women through Arts and Science. This affiliated college is situated at Sathankulam, Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu, it provides a wide spectrum of under graduate and post graduate courses. Located in 30 acres of land the college offers education to a strength of 1147 students split across its faculty and staff strength of 39 members. It currently delivers 7 unique programmes in several fields to meet the educational needs of young women in the relevant areas. As a institution dedicated to providing quality education supported with focus on the overall development of women, the college has grown to be a beacon of women education in Thoothukudi.

Government Arts and Science College for Women Thoothukudi has in its roster a total of seven full time courses: undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The undergraduate courses are BA, B.Com, B.Sc and BBA where as the postgraduate programs comprises of M.Com, M.Sc Mathematics, and MA English. All courses are planned without exception to be run in the normal full-time mode and the time take to complete the course range between 2 and 3 years. The college proposed and approved intakes for all courses of composite 325 demonstrate that the college has approved to quality education for a huge number of students every year.
