Affiliated college situated in Gorakhpur in Chhattisgarh state was established in the year 2008 and known as the Government College, Bishrampur. This university provides various undergraduate courses to the people of this region for fulfilling their educational requirements. With an over all student strength of 395 and faculty members of 12, the college offers more concentrated education. Government College, Bishrampur at present provides four full time courses in total for three degree courses under Art, Commerce and Science faculty. The competitive aspect of the college can be seen by the variety of subjects taught at the college and the college’s ability and desire to keep the student to faculty ratio as small as possible. 

The college has many amenities with the purpose of improving the student’s education experience during their study. This is an information centre that stocks up books in many fields, and offers a systematic system of issuing books. Two books can be borrowed for a period of a fortnight and thus students read books frequently. I am proud of the college to facilitate a well-facilitated and wide sports ground that not only met the practice sessions requirement but also to support the dreams of an upcoming sports person. The intellectual infrastructural facilities in the institution includes technological resources for students and department based laboratories. However also this college focuses on the over development of students specially through NCC and NSS, the society building leadership qualities among students. On the fact, Government College, Bishrampur provides four undergraduate programs only and all these programs are of full time mode of study. 

These include Bachelor of arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Science Biology and Bachelor of Science Mathematics. The College, which has an approved intake of 340 students for all the programmes combined, intends to educate a good number of students every year. The distribution of seats is proportional to the college’s student’s need for a range of academic concentrations with 140 seats for BA, 100 for B.Com, and 70 for B.Sc Biology and 30 for B.Sc Mathematics.
