This college affiliated with Dr. H.S. Gour University, Sagar was established in 1989 at Churhat, (Madhya Pradesh). This institution has been established in Sidhi district and is providing educational facilities for more then 30 years. Though it is a small college with total enrolled students and total faculty members 42 & 4 respectively but this college has social importance to provide educational facility for higher studies.

Despite being compact, the college provides key infrastructures for delivery of teaching learning processes to the students. A knowledge-centered learning resource center in the form of a modern library that can further help students by stocking several books, journal, or reference materials that can support students need. This resource can be widely used during research or independent learning as well as for extending the scope of learning beyond the classroom. Further, the college has department laboratories with practical exercises that give students practical experiences in their respective training areas. Such practical learning areas are essential to address the implementation of the theoretical knowledge learnt especially those from science disciplines.

Government College, Churhat currently boasts a bachelor of arts (BA) programme as its main products offered to students. This course takes three years at full time, and the institution has approved the capacity to admit twelvety students, this is the institutions way of ensuring every year it produces quality graduates who will fit the job markets. The BA program will develop humanities and social sciences skills to enable graduates to work in various fields or advance further and take more specialized courses.
