The Government College for Women, established in 1981, Gohana, has provided quality education as its core intent towards women empowerment. It finds itself in the Sonepat district of Haryana and acts as a hub of learning along Jind Road, close to the Court and DSP Office. Having been operational in this field for more than four decades, this affiliated college comes under government ownership. The college has a student enrolment of 2,079 and 40 faculty members and offers a variety of 8 courses across 7 degree programs, which cater to the varied interests and aspirations that students bring to pursue their educational goals and professional futures.

The institution offers 8 full-time courses from BA, B.Com, B.Sc (Medical and Non-Medical), BBA, M.Com. Total student intake in the college stands at 2,079 across all courses, which indicates a strong contribution to higher education in the region. Among these, the BA course holds the most popular seats at 600, followed by B.Sc Non-Medical, with 120 seats. Some of the other programs taken in the college include M.Com and M.Sc Geography.
