The Government College for Women, Srikakulam, was established in 1968 and is the premier institution solely developed to impart quality education to female students. The affiliated college, which is located at Srikakulam in Andra Pradesh, encompasses 10.6 acres and has 29 courses in 8 degrees. The current student enrolment is 1,595 with 21 faculty members, and this institution has a pretty appreciable student-teacher ratio. The NAAC has accredited the college, thereby making a statement in regard to its academic excellence. The undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered with 94% of the students enrolled in UG courses and 6% in PG courses.

Undergraduate courses are offered in the streams of arts, commerce, and Science. A number of postgraduate courses are also offered in some subjects. The sanctioned student intake capacity is 1,167.
