Government College, Peringome, was started in the year 2014 in Kannur, Kerala, close to the CRPF Recruits Centre and is a co-educational institution. This affiliated college having 12.13-acre campus area provides tremendous numbers of undergraduate and post graduate courses. Having a total enrolment of 294 students and faculty of 18 in each academic year, the college has kept the student-teacher ratio small and compacted. There are four distinctive programs with the degrees offered by the institution include English, Mathematics, and Commerce to meet the diverse academic needs of all the students who have various dreams when it comes to the careers.

The college has equipped various amenities that may supplement the learning process and contribute to the student satisfaction. The library plays a central role of a resource centre to provide necessary and adequate information to discharge the academic duties of the students. For science-oriented programs students, the college offers departmental laboratories fitted with appropriate tools and equipment for practical exercises. It also cares for the health of its people providing sports amenities that are necessary for a healthy student-life workout. Therefore, like any other modern institution, the Government College, Perigome has made good IT infrastructure as student’s resource available. Some of the features developed in the classrooms are appropriate to foster an environment that can accommodate the several methodologies as well as interactive classes.

Government College, Peringome does offer four courses being all full time programs. These include three undergraduate courses: BA English, B.Sc Mathematics, B.Com Cooperation, and one post graduate course MA English. The maximum capacity of students enrollment in the BA English is limited to thirty students and the capacity of other courses is unknown. These versatile programs encourage students to have a focus in Humanities, Science and Commerce in their undergraduates and postgraduates levels. That the college goals to deliver quality education is clear from the college’s focused delivery of these core disciplines.
