Government College, Rau was started in the year 2011 is located in the industrial area of Rau, Indore, Madhya Pradesh is a co-educational college. This affiliated college located in a 9.105 acre campus have been in the realm of higher education from the past ten years. NAAC accredited college is providing best undergraduate programmes to its 2233 registered students. A fact worth noting is that the institution boasts of a faculty composed of 14 teachers who are dedicating in preparing scholars in the various fields as the table below shows.

Government College, Rau has several facilities that make the general learning experience of the students much better. The most central of these is the college library comprising of a moderate but comfortable area of 4576 sq. ft. With a total of 3,787 books, including references and competitive examination, there is a reading hall, newspapers, magazines, and research papers. Besides, it is equipped with 12 Operational Computers with internet facilities connecting the students to online resources such as National Digital Library of India. Students also have access to well equipped laboratories, sports facilities and a modern IT facility. This institution understands the need for students and has provided for it with a gym and health facility that offers a first aid.

Government College, Rau, Indore has a total of eight courses in three degree programme and all these course are full time. total student intake of the college is a capped of 2223 in all the programmes that it offers.The college has 2137 students in post graduate programmes alone. It has been so developed that it can serve the students based on their academic pursuits such as arts, commerce, and science as well as computer studies. This variety means that students will be able to have several chances to engage those areas they want to specialise in.

Though, there is no elaboration about the process of admission but it is the general practice of the government colleges where admission is granted on the basis of merit. The college has structured courses with different fees so as to make it possible for students from different income classes attain college education. For example, whereas, BA programme costs 8,928 INR, BA Computer and B.Sc Computer cost slightly higher 26,928 INR and 29,028 INR respectively. However, it should be pointed out that certain science programmes like B.Sc Mathematics and B.Sc Biology cost either negligible or no fees at all; which would be encouraging for learners who are aspiring to be scientists. Although there is no specific information concerning scholarships, as being a direct government entity, one can easily guess that there are different governmental scholarship programmes that are applicable for students.
