Government Degree College, Banjar (GDC Banjar) is one of pioneer college situated in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. This affiliated college was set up in 1999 and has been successfully preparing young people for their future for more than 20 years. The college is sited in the beautiful Kullu Valley, and enjoys a campus of 4.43 acres of area which is quite conducive to learning. GDC Banjar is a NAAC accredited college to ascertain the quality of education in the college. The total strength of the college is 1017 students and the teachers and staff strength is 17, and therefore good number of students per teacher which facilitates individual attention towards students and their development.

The Government Degree College boasts for effectively providing various amenities that may complement the learning process of students. With well equipped modern appliances of the Gymnasium, it helps to bring a sense of fitness and consciousness among student community. Currently, GDC Banjar has five full-time courses under its undergraduate programmes which are offered in three degrees. The college offers BA, B.Sc, ans B.Com courses that are meant to give students an opportunity to build their career in the most convenient field of specialisation of their choice. The B.Sc programme also divides into Medical and Non-Medical fields to provide students the freedom to select their choice of subject. At present, the college admission rate per course offer is quite impressive as it admits 1017 students in total to make learning as exciting as possible.
