Government Degree College, Chebrolu, also known as GDC Chebrolu, was founded in 1983. Located near the Police Station in Chebrolu, Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, it is a co-educational, pre-university college on a compact 1.25-acre campus that has provided a nearly four-decade-long run of transformative learning experiences through quality undergraduate education for students. It is an affiliated college accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). With 154 students enroled currently, and nearly the same number of males and females as learners, the college maintains a high student-to-teacher ratio.

Government Degree College has a good number of facilities to enrich the pursuit of learning and also the broader development of the students. A well-equipped library will act as a hub for knowledge, while state-of-the-art laboratories cater to the practical needs of science students. Technology is an area in which the college is very sound. The college has excellent IT infrastructure and campus-wide Wi-Fi connectivity. GDC Chebrolu extends academic courses under its fold in an impressive total of 6 undergraduate full-time courses covering arts, commerce, and science in them. Three undergraduate courses are provided by the college. Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science; Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry; and Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Commerce graduates can look forward to either a general B.Com or a specialised B.Com in Computer Applications. Under the arts umbrella, there is BA in History, Economics, and Political Science. All these courses are designed as three-year full-time programmes where students get to attain high knowledge and skills in their chosen fields.

The admissions of Government Degree College, Chebrolu are entirely merit-based and inclusive. Generally, most government colleges in Andhra Pradesh do screen the admissions based on marks secured in the qualifying examination, that is, 10+2 or equivalent.
