Government Degree College, Diggal, was started in 2014 and is an affiliated college situated in the premises of Himachal Pradesh, India. This college occupies total territory of 6.53 acres. The college offers two undergraduate programmes at the moment with a total student enrollment is 152 student and the faculty strength is 11 composed of highly professional personnel. Being a government affiliated institution, its main goal is to deliver education to the students in that particular region in the faculties of arts and commerce.

Government Degree College, Diggal, has put in place resources that support the learning of the students in the college. Central to these amenities is the college library which has a book stock of 1,100 books of which 700 are reference books and 8 journals. For current affairs and reading, the library also subscribes to two daily newspaper one in Hindi and one in English and four magazines for the students. As part of the practical learning, the college provides different departmental laboratory in order to provide quality practical training to the students in their areas of specialisation. It also lays great emphasis on possessing an excellent IT structure to allow the students face the challenges posed by todays ICT age. For the extra curriculum, the school has well-equipped sports facilities for all students as they also teach them on the importance of exercising as well as encouraging them to be spirit filled while they engage themselves in different games. Also, the college has an alumni association that assures a close contact between the current college students and those that have completed their courses.

At present, Government Degree College, Diggal, offers two full-time undergraduate programmes, BA being an undergraduate academic degree and B.Com being another undergraduate degree in Commerce. These two programmes take three years to complete, and afford the student a broad training in the chosen subject area. The total student intake for these courses is 152 in order to keep the student enrolment per faculty member favourable and to be able to assist each learner to the best of the faculty’s ability.

The Government Degree College, Diggal maintains a more fair admission policy especially for the, BA programme where the admission is mostly based on merit. Admitted students undergo through analysis of their performance in their qualifying examinations as prospective students. This way it benefits the institution to provide deserved candidates the chance to further their studies at the institution.
