Government Degree College at Khairatabad was started in the year 1973 and is one among the reputed education institutions in Hyderabad, Telangana. This affiliated college provides all sorts of opportunities of the undergraduate degree programs in a number of subjects. At present, the college has a total enrollment of 2,368 students and 51 dedicated faculties rendering suitable learning atmosphere for the scholars to be produced. It has a relatively low gender ratio whereby the institution has 2417 male students and 861 female students. Recognised by NAAC, Government Degree College, Khairatabad has total of 34 courses falling under 4 degree programs thus proving the college’s competency in successfully providing higher education facilities for its students.

The college boasts of these and other facilities as a way of improving the learning facilities which are readily available. The main and largest building is the Administration building housing the central hall which also consists of the library ; the college has with a collection of books: 69108; 45 journals/ periodicals and 15 newspapers. For the sports lovers, the institution has both open and closed places for the exercises. 

There is a ground for Volleyball, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho; Indoor facilities available are; Table tennis, carom, chess, etc. It also avails resources in information technology with a well-equipped information technology and communication network with free Wi-Fi across the college’s campus in order to provide students with modern tools for learning. A plan for recreation and well being is not lacking with provision of gymnasium and a health center that has first aid services.

This college which is the Government Degree College, Khairatabad presents a complete package of full-time undergraduate programs for the students in different faculties. The college provides 34 courses under four degree categories: BA, B.Sc, B.Com - B.Com Computer Applications and BBA programs are being offered presently namely: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) - B.Sc-Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). 

Their intention is to provide academics of interest and occupational goals to every learner. Despite the fact that the distribution of the number of seats for each course has not been clearly stated, the total student intake capacity is 2368. Such a promotion of course offering means that students have adequate chances in being able to follow their areas of concern.
