Government Degree College, Kulgam: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

GDC kulgam is one of the renowned government institutions developed in year 2004, located in Kulgam of Jammu and Kashmir. Being an affiliated college it is situated in Chawalgam Road, Sitapur which is 25000 sq.meters area of land in total for 12.5-Acre land. GDC Kulgam is affiliated to the NAAC which esteems the quality education in the college. The college has 5 undergraduate degree programmes with 4887 enrolments, male and female students are nearly equal at 44: 56. This college consists of 55 dedicated teaching faculties to ensure that students who wish to pursue higher education in the various disciplines find a favourable environment to learn in.

GDC Kulgam has well equipped facilities that would help the students to improve the academic as well as personal qualities of the students. The college library is the knowledge centre of the institution providing among others encyclopaedias and dictionaries. For health and safety, there is first aid centre that comes with a medical attendant as well as Omni Ambulance in case of emergency entails. The college enjoys well organised and equipped sports facilities such as the fields and courts which are available for use to sports enthusiast. The institution has 101 computer systems to support teaching, research, and administration in labs, library and various departments. Students can take tea, snacks, etc.at the college canteen which has at nominal charges. Further, the college does offer transport facilities for some of the routes exclusively for those students who travel by bus.

GDC kulgam provides a total of 5 full-time courses to cater the students’ different areas of specialisation. They include the Bachelor of Arts (BA), the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours). The BBA programme takes 40 students in the course while the BCA course 30 students. B.Com (Hons) programme occupies the largest number of sixty seats. However, it is regrettable that the aggregate population of students who graduated in the latest year is not included in the data set.

Admission to the Government Degree College, Kulgam is through the Common University Entrance Test for UG programmes (CUET UG) and CUET exempted category and Non-CUET counselling. This is so for all the mentioned courses such as the four-year integrated Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Honours. Concerning the B.Sc programme, admission here is on merit in accord with university guidelines as may be announced. CUET UG is the entrance examination that can be taken for joining the college which is accepted by many colleges and universities of India for admission to undergraduate programmes.
