Government Degree College, Lansdowne, came into existence in the year 1972. This affiliated college is located in the beautiful town of Lansdowne in Uttarakhand and is spread over 10.4 acres. The institution has been assessed and accredited by NAAC. With 25 different courses offered in its eight degree programmes, GDC Lansdowne student enrolment of 1,420, further supported by a faculty of 23 members. The institution offers specialisation in Chemistry, Political Science, Hindi, English, Economics, History, and other related subjects.

It takes immense pride in offering all-round learning with a multitude of facilities to aid in developing the academic personality of its students. The campus library is fully equipped and excellent for making research and intellectual growth possible. A well-equipped modern gym and sports facilities are available in the college for the physical fitness of students. It is, at the same time, aware of the role of technology in education; as such, provides strong I.T. infrastructure to back up digital learning initiatives. The students could relax and socialise in the cafeteria of the college, while the auditorium hosts various functions and activities related to their cultural and academic pursuits. A girls' hostel has been provided by the college for a safe and comfortable living environment for girls coming from different parts of the region. The presence of an active Alumni Association adds much more strength to the network at the college and brings forth numerous opportunities for the students here presently.

GDC Lansdowne offers a total of 25 courses, consequently creating a rich and varied academic landscape: it includes full-time undergraduate programmes, postgraduate studies, and even doctoral research opportunities.
