Government Degree College which is situated at Mahabubabad, Telangana was started in 1984 is one of the leading college in the state of Telangana, India. This affiliated college is located at Kesamudram Road near Bus Stand and this college provides a number of undergraduate courses in different streams. Currently, it hosts only a total of 484 students within its well developed college campus of 7 acres of land and it is run by 10 members faculty team. The college is Government Degree College, Mahabubabad and it offers education to the students who are very much enthusiasm on their respected fields of education Government Degree College, Mahabubabad is the only college recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). There are currently 11 courses offered within 3 degrees, which makes the atmosphere in the institution rich and diverse.

Government Degree College has all the modern and fairly luxurious facilities which are intended to facilitate the educational process of students. The best equipped library functions as a crucial source of information and knowledge satisfying the needs of the students. For those who have an interest more in acting then the college provides them with a gym for fitness. The students interested in sports activities can also find use of different sports amenities situated on the territory of many universities. 

This college we can tell has embraced the modern education hence having facilities such as e-classrooms as well as smart classrooms to prepare the students for the digital world. Lectures and seminars are held also in an auditorium located on campus, and many students can become attendees of these events, laughing and calling each other during free hours. The college also has well equipped laboratories for practicals throughout the departments of the institution. For instance, it has facilities for hosting male and female students especially those coming from distant regions within students’ hostels.

Government Degree College; Mahabubabad currently offers a total of eleven programmes alone which are all based on full time programmes. These courses cut across various disciplines such as Commerce, Life Science and Physical Science. Some of the courses offered by the college is available either in English or in Telugu to meet the language needs of the aspiring students. Though the total intake for all the courses has not been mentioned it is understood that two of them namely B.Com Computer Applications and B.Sc Life Science each has 120 intake capacity. This means there must be a huge annual uptake across all the programmes and this is seen in the college enrolment of 484 students.

The admission procedure adopted at Government Degree College, Mahabubabad is very simplistic and the college is equally concessional to all the students seeking admission there. The college does not propose a number of entrance examinations for admission, but it can mean that admission is based on the academic result in qualifying examination. This approach helps to create a policy to support bright students of different somewhat of background to have chance to continue studying in the institution.
