Government Degree College, Nagari, also known as GDC Nagari is one of the most reputed institutions in Andhra Pradesh in the town of Nagari and was established in 1978. It has a spacious campus covering 12.87 acres and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with the co-educational system. The GDC Nagari is NAAC accredited and an affiliated college with quality education. The college has a total student strength of 864 along with a faculty strength of 21. It maintains a perfect ratio between students and teachers. 

The college has various modern facilities which are capable of aiding to the needs of students towards their better learning experience and general development as well. The college library, with its sizeable capacity of 2880 sq. m, houses 19,794 books, journals, and other digital resources, thereby providing a fulfilling academic environment to its students. The college is taking keen interest in physical fitness through its gymnasium and other multi-diversified sports facilities. GDC Nagari provides excellent IT infrastructure along with Wi-Fi connectivity for students to keep up with the lightning pace of technological development. Good laboratory setups, and an auditorium for events and seminars, are also provided. There is a cafeteria to fulfill students' refreshment needs. In addition, the college has hostel facilities both for boys and girls wherein students, especially those from out of town, can have a convenient stay. GDC Nagari is bound to provide a range of academic programmes under its respective departments that will suit each student's area of interest. 

The college offers 7 courses-6 undergraduate programmes and 1 postgraduate course. Every course is a full-time regular programme. It is framed to give students in-depth knowledge combined with valuable practical skills in respective fields. The total approved intake for all of the courses put together is 340 seats. In the latest year of academics, the college saw the total enrolment of 916 students-in undergraduate programmes, 870 students, and in postgraduate studies, 46 students. 

Government Degree College, Nagari offers admissions through open and merit-based procedure. In PG courses like M.Com also, the academic performance of the student at the undergraduate levels might be taken into consideration by the college. For providing financial aids to students, GDC Nagari is also careful as a large number of students avail themselves with reimbursement. It has a mixed student body; 60% males and 40% females were enroled at undergraduate levels, and 63% males and 37% females were enroled at postgraduate levels.
