Government Degree College, Shantinagar, was established in 2014, and affiliated to Jogulamba Gadwal, Telangana. Located behind the new Police Station in Shanthinagar, Waddepally Mandal this institution occupies a 3-acre land. Currently the college has four courses B.Sc Life Sciences, B.Sc Physical Sciences, B.Com Computer Applications and B.A for their students to pursue according to their field of passion. Having a total student enrolment of 243 and faculty of 11, the college ensures its students get adequate attention from the faculty. The college has departmental based Laboratories to meet the practical session need of the students based on their departments. The courses offered by Government Degree College, Shantinagar are four full time undergraduate programmes. These are two B.Sc programmes (Life Sciences and Physical Sciences), a B.Com programme with option in Computer Applications and a BA programme. All these courses take three years to complete.
