Government Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukharjee Science and Commerce College, Benazir instituted in 1982 is one of the most recognised educational facilities based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Kolar based college is located in Rajharsh Colony in the Sector-H, spread over 2.5 acre of land. Being an affiliated college, NAAC accreditation has been duly awarded to the College underlining its adherence to quality education. Across the seven degrees delivered at the institute, there are 22 courses offered with the student body totaling 2,340 enrolments. At present the college has fifty members in the faculty thus there is a positive student teacher interaction which leads to a favorable student-teacher ratio and quality education.

The college has therefore put in place various facilities that will facilitate easy learning for the students. A good reader, therefore, has access to a rich library, which is a treasure trove of academic material. The institution boasts of strong information technology whereby students are trained on the modern technology and computer skills. Departmental laboratories are useful learning facilities for students involved in science and commerce courses. College also focuses on students’ physical health and offers sports facilities as well as gym to keep the healthy fit. Also, the presence of first aid facilities in a health centre eradicates the College’s woes in handling the health needs of its community.

Government Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukharjee Science and Commerce College provides a vast programme combination in all its fields. Most of the courses are full time and the institute offers 22 courses which are at the undergraduate, post graduate and doctorate level. In the undergraduate level, the students can apply for B.Sc in combination like Botany, Zoology and Chemistry, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics etc, Computer Science, Physics and Mathematics and Biotechnology. The college also provides B.Com and B.Com Computer Application. Nyasa postgraduate programmes which are offered include; M.Sc. Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, and MA Sociology and History, M.Com. The college, therefore, has a diversified academic direction that cuts across Commerce, Mathematics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany Ph.D courses.

For undergraduate courses, the admissions are normally done depending on the result scored in the higher secondary examination.
