Chaibasa Engineering College (CEC) is one of the well known engineering colleges situated in the land of staring steel-Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. This affiliated college was set up in 2013, and the institution has been developing technical manpower for more than ten years. Located in a vast plot of thirty five acres, CEC provides a favourable learning climate. This college is recognised by the All India council for Technical Education (AICTE) and provides quality education with the standards of the country.

CEC has laid down commendable infrastructure facilities for its academic programmes. The college library amounts to 6000 sq ft which is a part of a knowledge centre and houses thousands of books, periodicals, journals and electronic data base. There is a 200-seater study area as well as a digital library complete with 30 computers for use in accessing online lectures and journals. That is why the college cooperation with IEEE offers the students broad opportunities to study various engineering-related online resources. Sport enthusiasts will also have chance to attend to their hobbies as the college has good recreational sports facilities. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled to establish connection of network for learning for students as well as working for the staff. In terms of accommodation, CEC has available space for accommodating students and this include hostels for both the male and female with a carrying capacity of one hundred for the male and fifty for the female sex. All these hostels have been furnished with latest amenities such as CCTV cameras running round the clock, internet facility, power back up, etc.

The engineering programmes in the college include a total of 9 courses from two levels of degree. CEC offers various programmes for B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Advanced Communication Technology, VLSI Design Technology etc. The college is also provides postgraduate degree in M.Tech stream the specialisation being in Advanced Communication Technology and Electronics and Communication VLSI Design. CEC has an admission capacity of 864 students each year and the faculty itself is comprised of a 71 members where the number of students to each teacher is quite reasonable.

Chaibasa Engineering College has laid down two main standard entry points for admission of interested students. The first one is admission where students can apply to their respective colleges by using JEE Main scores. The second is through the JCECEB counselling for which the admission process will be conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. This kind of approach is good for different types of learners because it has two strategies. For the B.Tech admissions, the college accepts the score received in the GUJCET entrance examination, meaning that the students from different regions are also provided the chance to learn at this college.
