Government First Grade College Athani was established in the year 2007 Well Integrated in to the Professional Educational arena of Belgaum Karnataka. One of the affiliated colleges of BHU is a co-educational college affiliated with NAAC which provides a number of undergraduate programs in various streams of study. Located on 5 acre of land, the college has total student population of 2034 of which 73% are male and remaining 27% are female. It is an institution that believes in offering quality education and consists of 9 faculty members teaching its 4 course 4 degree programs in arts, commerce, and Science streams.

Since the college has been boasting of its infrastructures that are well equipped to complement the learning environment of the students. The college and the Library and information centre opened in 2007 has expand over the years. Currently, it stocks over 10 813 books, newspapers and magazines. Students and staff also get access to e-journals /e-books through INFLIBNET, which creates a desired academic ambiance. The institution has got departmental laboratories for different departments and these are essentials in teaching learning activities.
