The Government First Grade College for Women, Puttur which started in the year 2014 is an efficient women’s college offering higher education situated at Puttur, Karnataka. Located close to the Government Hospital, this college spreads over 2-acre area is providing a right ambience for learning. The college being quite young in its existence, has carved itself a niche in providing education to women of this area, with a total of 716 students and a teaching staff of 9 committed teachers. At present, the institution provides three full–time undergraduate programs under two degrees: B.Com and B.A. The subjects include History, Economics, Political Science and Sociology etc.

Further, there is a very vibrant alumni association of the college to ensure the linkage to absorb students is well established; this means that the college has fully functional alumni networks through which current students can network.

The Government First Grade College for Women, Puttur, combines a total of three undergraduate programmes all of them are day time only. These include Two fairly conventional programs; the Bachelor of Arts (BA) History, Economics and Political Science, Bachelor of Arts (BA) History, Economics, Sociology and the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com).
