Government First Grade College located at Kumta in the state of Karnataka, India is a relatively young college having been started in 2007. Affiliated to the Karnataka state university, facilities of this college are available on Muroor Road, Kumta over a 3-acre campus and offers courses in a wide spectrum. NAAC affiliated this institution has established an impressive image in the face of various higher institutions across the geographical region. The total number of student enrolment is 1,305 while the total strength of faculty is 19 which brings a good learning atmosphere for the students and teachers. On their level of study, there are the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), and the BCA. For the scholars, the college has Master of Arts in Sociology and Master of Commerce programmes for those willing to pursue their masters. It is more diversified in nature with major optional in History, Economics and Political Science, Sociology . The B.Sc programme deals with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics disciplines of learning. In confirming its capacity the college has taken an average of fifteen students for each of the seventy-odd courses that it offers, in the course of this academic year the college has taken a total of 1,305 students in the region.
