Government First Grade College, Mangalore (GFGC Mangalore) is a well known college which was started in the year of 2007. In Car Street, Mangalore, Karnataka this affiliated college has been setting high standards in higher education. NAAC accredited institution, GFGC Mangalore provides a broad spectrum of programmes of different fields. The college has also campus size of 1.67 acres and has total intake of 2,417 students. Althogh it is one of the ‘New Generation Institute’ it has dedicated is 33 including in various fields of Comprece, Arts, Social Work, and Computer Applications that offers variety of 8 courses.

Government First Grade College Mangalore provides different amenities to help students achieve better learning experience. The college library has a magnitude of books totaling to 14,577, out of the 7,688 titles and 6,889 of the reference books collections in different disciplines. For sports lovers, the campus has a wrestling, kho-kho, volley ball, badminton and kabaddi ground and modern gym. The IT infrastructure we have is a computer Lab equipped with sixty computers and internet connection. Other facilities are cafeteria in the middle of the campus, an advanced multi-usher less auditorium with sitting capacity of 700 and well designed Physics, Chemistry and computer Science laboratories. The college also has the provision for hosting of both boys and girls for accommodation of out-station students.

The institute provides all the courses needed by students with various academic majoring options. GFGC Mangalore offers twenty one courses like full time undergraduate and postgraduate programme. The college also has a total approved intake for all courses at 2417. Some of such programmes include B.Com. with 1,060, BCA with 438, BBA with 109, M.Com with 110, MSW with 56. The college also has different BA and B.Sc programmes with varied subjects that will enable the students to choose the area of their interest.

The admission procedure in GFGC Mangalore is made fairly clear, and any common man can easily understand it. Application for most courses should be made on a prescribed form and submitted to the college principal not later than two weeks after the announcement of the qualifying examination results. For some programmes such as BBM (now BBA) admission, candidates who meet this requirement maybe can be interviewed by the college’s Admission Committee.  As for the exams, there is no information regarding its specific dates, however, the college might use scores of state or national level entrance tests for the admission to different courses offered by the college.
