Government First Grade College was started in the year 1974 at Naubad in the district of Bidar, Karnataka. This co-educational college with a campus sized of 17 acres, undertakes a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Approved by NAAC and having about 1623 registered students, the college strives for quality education. The institute has 31 dedicated educators in its faculty and it welcomes 208 students in total through the 6 diverse degree programmes it provides, in 16 courses of science, science-commerce, and arts.

Government First Grade College current offers a variety of modern facilities to enhance carrier of its academic programmes. A library with more than 45459 books and journals help the students and the research scholars in their day to day work. For added practical learning, the institution boasts of physics, electronics, chemistry, zoology, computer laboratories as well as plant science laboratories. The computer laboratory equipped with 25 computers satisfies the technological requirements of sciences subjects. Also, the college has accessed to Eduset facilities and the audio visual multimedia projectors in improving their learning.

Government First Grade College, Naubad has a good course catalogue which includes undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Currently the institute offers sixteen full-time courses in a variety of fields. At the undergraduate level, the programmes available for students are; B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics, Botany and Zoology. The college also have B.Com and various B.A courses with combinations including History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Kannada, Hindi and Education. At postgraduate level, college offers M.Sc in Computer Science and Chemistry, M.Com and M.A in Kannada, History & Economics.
