Government First Grade College Siddakatte was established in the year 2007, affiliated to Mangalore University is situated at Bantwal, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. This government organization, covering an area of land of 3.48 acres, is affiliated to the NAAC. The college currently has a total of 197 students and able faculty comprising of 8 members. It conducts one course of B.Com with an approved remoteness of Forty students. The institute is authorised to offer education in commerce and, therefore, plays an essential role in meeting the people’s educational requirements.

The Government First Grade College  maintains social facilities that are useful in providing enhancement to learning throughout the students. It has a well stocked library where students found useful resource and important in perform their academic work. The school has the facility of an auditorium which is used to organise events, seminars etc to keep the campus active academically. A mandatory feature that every student eager on various types of exercises will appreciate is that the college has sports amenities to ensure that one’s balance between academic and physical activities is achieved. The institute also value technological upgrade with good Information technology facilities so that students are ready for the world market. Government First Grade College, Siddakatte, currently offers one full-time course: Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). This programme of study, which is an undergraduate programme, has an approved student uptake of forty students per academic year. The B.Com undergraduate course is put in place so as to equip the students with good knowledge and understanding in different fields of commerce and business which will enable him/her to fit into any career path in the business world. Statistics and information concerning specific colleges of commerce regarding the number of graduates is unavailable; however, promoting quality education produces competent professionals in the area of commerce.

The admission policy of the Government First Grade College, Siddakatte is to have a simple process which can be adopted to increased access. It is not clear as to what is involved in the admission process, but as a general rule, one will fill an application form and attach the necessary papers. Since it is a government institution, then it is expected that the college follows the system where the student is admitted based on their performance in their 10+2 or its equivalent.
