Government First Grade College, Tiptur which is shortly known as GFGC Tiptur came into existence in the year 2007. It started in the year 2009 at Tiptur in Tumkur District of Karnataka, the college has gained rapid popularity in providing higher education. GFGC Tiptur is an affiliated college located in Tiptur town in Karnataka and spread over an area of 5.5 acres The University is NAAC accredited. The institute teaches 5 courses catering a total student strength of 3130 students. Currently the college has a strength of 37 dedicated faculties and a student teacher ratio that is ideal which translates into quality teaching.

Government First Grade College Tiptur has amenities such as educational halls, Resource center/Central library, students’ common room, hostel and other requisite modern infrastructural amenities that facilitate the learning process of the students. The college library which started with a collection of 882 books in the session 2007-08 has now expanded and accumulated more than 30000 books. It also offers e-Journals and e-Books through National Digital Library through NLIST/INFLIBNET e-consortium to help the students and faculties of the college for their academic research. The campus consists of well equipped practical laboratories, gymnasium to keep oneself fit and an auditorium for conducting seminars and other programmes. Students are privileged to access Wi-Fi connection in all parts of the campus so that ample resource documents can be accessed at ease. The college also has sport facilities so as to can encourage the students to balance between education and body fitness. 

The programme academic offerings of GFGC Tiptur are quite massive and they offer a total of 5 full time courses in distinct fields of study. The college has lower classes for Arts (BA), Commerce (B.Com), Computer applications (BCA), Management (BBM) and Science (B.Sc). These courses are meant for all sorts of interest and employment goals which helps the students build a strong base in their area of interest.Though there is no specific distribution of the number of seats for each course, there is total student intake capacity of 3130 of the college level, so there is huge scope for the students interested in taking admission into higher education of this college.
