Government First Grade College, Virajpet commonly known as GFGC Virajpet is a first grade college that started in the year 2007. As an affiliated college it has been imparting education to the students of Kodagu district in Virajpet of Karnataka for well over a decade now. This is as a result of having a fully accredited recognition by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). GFGC Virajpet has a spread out campus of 2.5 acres and currently offers a wide array of undergraduate courses to its 617 students. Faculty 9 members: the college has 9 dedicated faculty members most of them are educators so the college maintains student–educator ratio sufficiently small and healthy.

GFGC Virajpet has a number of amenities which are fabricated with the aim of improving the learning environment of the students. The college library functions as an information center which contains books, journals, news papers, and previous years’ question papers. Every department has its own library to continue supporting academics among students and other members of the institution. These programmes are available across arts, commerce and science streams and in subjects such as history, economics, political science, kannada, B.Com, BBM.
