The Government Girls College Taranagar is an affiliated college which started in 2014 and is situated in Churu District, Rajasthan. This institution is a women’s university and provides a variety of undergraduate degrees. Holding a total of 749 students and having a faculty of 6 the College maintains a dedicated learning environment for the students. It three full-time courses for students in two degrees: the arts and the science streams College offers five full-time courses as part of two degree programmes of arts and science streams. Government Girls College Taranagar owns several installations meant to improve the learning environment and the whole stint of the college learners. It functions as a core reference center that avails a variety of academic materials for use by students. Science students get a chance to take practicals for such courses as Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics in well stocked laboratories. The college also has good IT systems, and students are very much aware of the current technological development. Spaces for students’ sports activities are provided in order to promote physical education and recreation of the students. Accommodation in college class rooms make the students feel at ease to understand the classes taken and the college believes in the overall personality development as well and offers extra activities like National Service Scheme(NSS) etc.

Government Girls College, Taranagar/ In total, the college provides five programmes, which are also full-time programmes. 2 B.Sc and 1 BA degree programmes are offered by the college. The total student enrolment in all courses offered is 288, while the enrolment to the BA programme is 200 students. The B.Sc programmes such as Zoology, Botany and Chemistry and Mathematics and chemistry and physics taken by 44 students each. These and other differing courses make the respective learning programmes relevant to the various areas of academic concentration and career paths of the enrolled learners.

Admission process at Government Girls College, Taranagar is fairly easy so that every common student can easily get admitted to the college. However, specific procedure regarding the process of admissions to specific courses are unclear, it is general for the Government colleges of Rajasthan to deploy a merit based admission process. This college also offers applications for only the undergraduate level programmes which can be BA and B.Sc we presume that the admission will be given based on the marks obtained in the concerned qualifying 12th standard exam. As a college affiliated to a government the college may also practice reservation based on norms set by the state government. As for the scholarships, it is hereby important to note that though information about all these opportunities is not highlighted, almost all such state and central government scholarship programmes for the first and final year students in government colleges may be available.
