Government Institute of Science, Aurangabad (GIS) is a renowned higher education institution located in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra, India. The institute  was established in 1974. It is the only postgraduate and research institute in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. As the name suggests, it is a government-funded institution. The Government Institute of Science, Aurangabad is affiliated with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, (BAMU) Aurangabad. The institute is also approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
