Government Kavyopadhyay Hiralal College, Raipur, Abhanpur is an intrinsic part of the countryside. The college was established in the year 1989. This co-educational college is sprawled over a sprawling area of 16 acres of land. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council accredited this affiliated college. The college offers 10 courses in 7 degree programmes; it has a total student enrolment of 1,768 and a faculty strength of 18. The institution is proud to provide high-quality education in a number of disciplines, including sciences, arts, and commerce, to meet the varied academic interests of its students.

The students have, in turn, represented the college at state, university, and national levels. The institution also boasts of eight well-equipped laboratories that cater to the science and arts faculties besides specialised labs for Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, English, and Computer Science. These laboratories are well complemented and supplemented by modern IT infrastructure, making students aware of current technologies. For the health and well-being of the students, the college maintains a health centre with first-aid facilities. 

The Government Kavyopadhyay Hiralal College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The college offers 10 full-time courses across various disciplines. With this amount of courses, the total approved intake is 530 students, and therefore, the institution can accommodate more intending learners.
